12 Ways to Drive More Local Customers

with Google Posts

Google Posts are free ad space on your Google Business Profile, and it makes me sad to see so many businesses not taking advantage of them. They let you tell your prospective customers about your services, deals, and why they should hire you. Don’t sleep on them!

Here are 3 key tips to make your Google Posts convert more leads (and maybe even get surfaced by AI in the future):

1. Start with your value proposition

Google cuts out Post text after 80-100 characters, so don’t start with “Hi, everybody, i hope you’re hungry…” Instead, start with “50% off french dip sandwiches today.”

2. Keep videos under 30 seconds

In Google’s own Lisa Landsman’s words, “People want a vibe check, not a documentary.” Don’t worry about the production value as much as using those 30 seconds to sell your business.

3. Use Google’s handy Posts features to stay consistent and save time

  • Schedule multiple posts in advance with the ”Schedule this post” button.

  • Use the same post for all your locations with the ”Copy the update” feature.

  • Set your Posts on repeat with Google’s newest Posts feature (this is awesome for recurring events and offers such as happy hour).
