Is Google refusing to index your pages?

here's how to overcome it

If Google’s refusing to index your pages, there's still a way to stay visible online.

When people search with AI tools, the answers they get often cite social media posts, sometimes even more than traditional website pages.

So, if Google refuses to index your site, follow this checklist from Miriam Ellis‘s new blog post to become more visible in AI (which is the future of search anyway):

  1. Define a list of priority topics for which you need visibility on Google.

  2. Take those topics to Google AI Mode and begin asking questions about them.
For example, “Where can I get help when my wedding ring fell down my sink drain in Denver?”

  3. Note down all of the social media sources being cited as answers to your questions.

  4. Visit those platforms and get active on them.
And make sure to follow their community policies. For example, Reddit can be very strict about self-promotion, so don’t post blatant ads. Instead, do an “ask me anything” (AMA) on your topic.

  5. Make use of all the links you are permitted to include in your profiles, so that users who like your content can find you.

  6. Continue to build out the content of your website, but don’t consider a topic covered until you’ve also covered it on social media.

Of course, this is not a perfect fix (AI makes stuff up, your brand mentions and reviews will heavily affect how AI represents your business, etc), but it’s a good way to build visibility while dealing with indexing problems.
