This is what your title tags are missing

I will die on this hill

Hi!

Local SEO below 👇️

1. 18 local SEO developments from Q3 2025

Google says, “choose the fewest number of categories it takes to describe your overall core business.” But if you listen to Google, you won’t rank 🙄

A recent experiment by Joy Hawkins confirmed what local SEOs already knew: The more categories you add, the more terms you will rank for.

Miriam Ellis covers this and 17 more local SEO developments in her Q3 2025 Local Search Roundup:

  • Google documentation and guideline updates

  • More user experience integration into the GBP About section

  • Google Posts resurrection

  • Booking link scam drama

  • PAA-like insights in Google AI Mode

  • and more

Everyone who calls themself an SEO should read it immediately 👇️

2. This might be the best GBP Products section I’ve ever seen

Most businesses play it safe and look boring. But Rescue Plumbing Chicago went bright + bold + fun: yellow backgrounds, fun photos, and a personality that actually makes you want to call them.

Swipe through this carousel and see what they did 👇️

See the carousel on LinkedIn.

The Products section receives great visibility and can drive direct conversions, especially when the pictures are so eye-catching.

Takeaway: Don’t be boring. Be creative. Stand out. Especially if you’re in a “boring” industry like accounting. You can easily stand out from the competition by doing something bold, fun and creative.

3. Got a great review? Publish it as a Google Post!

This is a smart way to ensure your best reviews don't get buried under new reviews and continue to get seen by prospects.

You can even put this task on auto-pilot with the Whitespark Reputation Builder.

Configure the star threshold for the reviews you want to auto-publish, and how often you want to post them. You can even customize the design to match your brand.

4. Your title tags are missing localities (probably)

What are localities? 🧐

Localities are basically areas/neighborhoods. Adding localities to your title tag means adding a bunch of neighborhood names to the end.

Scroll through this carousel to learn why they’re important for your rankings 👇️

Find the carousel on Instagram.

5. Catch up on the pod, jolly-ly

The new episode is coming tomorrow, but if you haven’t seen last week’s episode yet, now’s the time. We talked about:

  • A citation mining tool for AI SEO (Dan Petrovic)

  • The shift from SEO to AIO (Stephen Burns)

  • AI Mode and Gemini in Chrome (Chris Long)

  • The AI Search Lab Glossary (Crystal Carter)

  • SearchPulse AI Reports (Reflect Digital)

  • Is this the end of GBP Q&A (for real this time)?
